A major initiative of the Town of Amherst is the L. Barnes Brockman, Sr. Business & Industrial Park. This development features 14 lots that contain over 150 acres arranged for a variety of commercial and industrial uses. The lots have been "developed" in that all water, sewer, street, street light, electrical and cable modem infrastructure is "on site". Fairmont Crossing, a 120-bed extended care facility owned by Centra Health, and Mutual Telecom Services, a manufacturer/installer of telephone switching equipment, operate from Brockman Park.
